Space Dynamics Lab Sensor Launched Aboard Progress, Bound for International Space Station

Utah State University’s Space Dynamics Laboratory announced today the successful launch of a rocket carrying two SDL-built Miniature Orbital Temperature References instruments to the International Space Station to test a technology critical for maintaining accurate calibration of the space based temperature sensors used for many satellite programs.
H. Scott Hinton Appointed to Lead Utah State University Research Foundation

Following a board of trustees meeting Aug. 5, the Utah State University Research Foundation named H. Scott Hinton as president of USURF, effective immediately. Hinton succeeds Douglas K. Lemon, who has accepted the position of associate vice president of Innovation Campus within USU’s Office of Advancement and Commercialization.

The Space Dynamics Laboratory will see a new building in its future, which officials hope will help to alleviate overcrowding for a division of the agency responsible for developing intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance technologies.
