The Utah State University Research Foundation has named Niel Holt director of its Space Dynamics Laboratory. The appointment became effective on November 13.
Holt will lead a 340 employee team with headquarters in North Logan, Utah and locations in Colorado Springs, CO., Los Angeles, CA., Albuquerque, NM. Washington, D.C., Huntsville, AL., Bedford, MA., and Houston, TX.
"Throughout the 20 years that Niel has been with SDL, he continuously outperforms on every program, illustrating his strong commitment to our customers, partners and employees,” said Doug Lemon, executive vice president and director of laboratories at Utah State University Research Foundation. “Niel’s leadership is ideally suited to guide SDL to continued success.”
Holt’s most recent assignment at SDL was director for its Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) Systems business division.
In order to better support growth of the USU Research Foundation, Lemon named James Marshall to an expanded role for business development. In this role Marshall will provide oversight and integration of business development operations for both the Space Dynamics Laboratory and Energy Dynamics Laboratory. Marshall will continue to serve as director of business development for the Space Dynamics Laboratory.
“Jim has an outstanding record of developing and providing our customers with solutions to complex issues in space, in air, on ground, and at sea,” Lemon said. “He will leverage his broad government and industry expertise to support the efforts of both business units.”
