CELiS
Compact Eye-safe Lidar System
SDL’s CELiS system is designed to monitor airborne particulate matter (PM) emissions and operates at the 1.57 µ eye-safe wavelength. The receiver consists of a telescope, aft-optics and alignment assembly, and InGaAs avalanche photodiode (APD) detector. The transmitter is a 20 Hz PRF – 25 mJ/pulse 1.57 µ laser with a 20x beam expander. Both the receiver and transmitter are mounted on a carbon fiber optical breadboard and an athermal mounting solution to minimize misalignment due to large changes in thermal operating temperature.
- Quantitative measurement of ambient PM2.5, PM10, or TSP concentrations at 3 km (2 mile) ranges
- Real-time concentration information
- Eye safe design
- Remotely operable
- Easily transportable
- Inexpensive
