Ice Content and Odd-Oxygen in Noctilucent Clouds

ICON was a NASA-sponsored program to determine the clouds' composition by measuring their IR and UV radiation and absorption characteristics. A follow-on to the METEORS experiment, ICON used the modified METEORS payload to accommodate new instruments to make these measurements.

Under contract to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, SDL was responsible for payload refurbishment, modification, and calibration of one sensor, field support for environmental testing at NASA's Wallops Flight Facility, and mission operations at ESRANGE, Sweden.
