Ultraviolet Sensors
SDL develops UV sensor systems
that operate between 110 to 400 nanometers (.11 to .4 µm). These UV spectrometers
and photometers have flown in critical missile defense applications as well
as atmospheric research campaigns providing valuable data for a variety of applications:
- Theater Missile Defense and National Missile Defense
- Kinetic Kill Vehicle testing
- Atomic Oxygen sensor systems to better understand the
structure of the neutral atmosphere
- Capturing atmospheric occurrences including sprites
and other electrical discharge phenomena, as well as measuring atmospheric
particle size, composition and distribution
